Wellbeing and therapy FAQs: what to expect from my counselling and somatic therapy, nature therapy and group spirituality offerings
Hello and thanks for being here! Starting therapy, or stepping into a wellbeing space, can bring up lots of questions, especially if you’re exploring approaches that honour your whole self. These wellbeing and therapy FAQs are here to help you get a sense of what to expect from working with me, and to share more about how I create spaces that are inclusive, trauma-aware and identity-affirming. Whether you’re curious about how nature therapy works, what somatic therapy involves, how I work with trauma, or how I hold space for neurodivergent and spiritually diverse clients, you’ll find some answers here, along with links to resources that you can explore.
At the heart of my practice is the belief that wellbeing and therapy should be a place of safety, curiosity and belonging.

What services do you offer?
Services include:
Ongoing psychotherapeutic and humanistic counselling integrated with somatic therapy, trauma therapy and, where it feels aligned, eco-therapy, or psycho-spiritual therapy. I work in person, in Birmingham and online. My practice is trauma aware, identity affirming and neuroaffirming. The majority of my clients are neurodivergent and I specialise in supporting people with autism and adhd, along with the LGBTQ+ community, and other people who are impacted by systemic oppression.
One off / single session nature/eco therapy or somatic therapy, exploring our connection to the body and/or the natural world through somatic and embodiment practices.
Bespoke workshops and events that are rooted in wellbeing, neuroscience, psychology, nature and community connection, and nature-based spirituality. You can see examples of past workshops here and you’ll find my current events here.

What’s your background and training?
My path into counselling and therapy started with my own journey of self-exploration. Supportive, affirming spaces helped me connect more deeply with myself, nature, and community.
I am a BACP-accredited counsellor, therapist and a certified meditation teacher, with additional training in somatics, yoga, facilitation, coaching, and eco-therapy. While I don’t refer to myself as a Priestess, as I’m not wild about hierarchical language, I’ve completed two Priestess trainings that are rooted in contemporary paganism
I value ongoing learning and development. Recent learning has included a focus on working with LGBTQ+ clients, working with neurodivergent clients, trauma, eco-psychology, existential therapy approaches, and anti-oppressive practice. I am supported through regular clinical supervision and mentoring.
While formal credentials support ethical practice, I also honour that many healing traditions come from indigenous cultures. Western accreditation often extracts from these traditions, so my intention is always to approach my work with respect, humility, and accountability to the lineages and teachers who’ve shaped me.
Teachers and mentors that have particularly influenced my life and my work include: Judith Herman, Jennifer Mullan, Shefali Tsabary, Babette Rothschild, bell hooks, Nova Reid, Kristen Neff, Robin Wall Kimmerer, Glennie Kindred, Jude Carn, Tara Brach, Benjamin Wati Wara, Heather Plett, Michelle Rose Boxley, Awen Clement, Carl Jung, Harriet Elizabeth, Ramanja, Anna Freud, The Shipibo-Conibo, Sam Gallo, Carolyn Hillyer, Deb Dana, Richard Schwartz and, of course, the Earth.

What are your values?
My work is guided by justice, fairness and equity. My values are rooted in a commitment to inclusion and care, along with ongoing reflection around my own privilege, and staying open to feedback and accountability when harm occurs. I honour the roots of every practice I share, working only with those I’ve been trained or initiated into, and never sharing closed practices. My intention is always to create spaces that are trauma-aware, identity-affirming and accessible, welcoming people of all genders, races, religions, ages, sexualities, body sizes and neurotypes. I continue to learn from diverse teachers, communities and lived experiences, always seeking to grow and do better. At the centre of it all is a belief in justice, belonging, and the power of relationship as a container for self understanding.
I share more detailed reflections about my values and commitments here.
Outside of the healing space, what are you like as a human?
Joy and lightheartedness matter to me. I love wild swimming, hiking, dancing and music (I’m learning the ukulele. Slowly!).
I have a soft spot for brutalist architecture and I used to work as a professional photographer. At the heart of it all, my intention is to leave the world softer than I found it, trusting that small acts of kindness and compassion ripple outward.
