Whether you’re new to therapy or taking the next step along your path, I’m glad that you’re here. I know how much courage it can take to face our struggles and explore the issues that impact us.

My own therapy journey started with my experience as a client. Exploring my challenges in a safe and affirming space helped me to live a more fulfilled life. I’ve also had experiences with mental health support that didn’t feel supportive so it’s incredibly important to me that the space I offer is underpinned by trauma-informed-practice, as well as being LGBTQIA+ affirming, disability affirming, neurodiversity affirming, anti-racist and fat-positive. If you’re wondering whether I am the right fit for you, this post shares a little more about my commitments as a therapist and space holder.

You might be coming to counselling to focus on a specific problem, or perhaps you want to understand yourself and your experience better. What ever your reasons for landing on this page, I offer a collaborative space where you can connect with yourself while being compassionately supported.

I am passionate about the practical aspects of therapy and supporting you to build tools and resources that you can use outside of the therapy room, as you respond to the inevitable challenges of being human. This includes supporting you to connect with your body and nervous system, as well as exploring your struggles through talk therapy approaches.

The types of therapy I work with include psychodynamic, gestalt, humanistic, acceptance and commitment therapy, neuroscience and somatic trauma therapy. I’m also a licensed meditation teacher, a sound practitioner and I facilitate wellbeing and spirituality offerings in nature. I’ve shared a bit more about my approach as a therapist here.

“After multiple attempts of therapy, Laura is the first person who has made me feel seen, understood, and valued. She shows real humanity and compassion, bringing a wealth of knowledge and skills yet without pushing an agenda. I have been supported by her through some life-changing epiphanies as well as some challenging lows. She is particularly capable with helping to manage triggers and overwhelming feelings which means it feels finally safe to talk to her about some of the heavier things I’ve been carrying. As someone who has worked in mental health for around 8 years myself, I can say that I wholeheartedly believe the mental health system would be better off if we had more Lauras in them”
