  • “I attended a session with Laura and I just want to say how incredibly nourishing it was. Laura’s offerings are a blend of her meditation, counselling & nature trainings, whilst honouring culture & diversity. You can tell that Laura is deeply committed to this work and way of living. It’s always nerve wracking going into group sessions but Laura made everyone feel at ease. Spaces like this always remind me how important it is to gather in groups, to be connected and to put devices away for a few hours. Thank you Laura!” - Sophie

  • “I just wanted to tell you that this offering was so lovely. I am navigating some challenging times and this really helped today. I’m not typically very good at slowing down and being intentional and I loved that everything was an invitation “you may wish to…”, “you could…”. It felt very relatable. I know when you put so much heart and soul into something it’s always nice to know when it’s had an impact, so thank you” - Amy

Slow Social is a facilitated gathering designed to help you make meaningful new connections in a way that feels more intentional, supported, and accessible. Think speed dating, but slower, and focused on friendship, community, and connection.

You'll move through a series of structured 121 and group conversations, with thoughtful prompts and questions. We'll explore topics that actually matter, alongside a handful of lighter, playful questions to keep things balanced.

Whether you're looking to expand your social circle, find like-minded people, or simply experience a different kind of social event, The Slow Social offers a gentler way to connect.

July’s Social will take place at The Cloak and Dagger, Stirchley. Tea, coffee and water will be provided and you’re welcome to bring your own soft drinks and snacks. Accessibility info: the venue is wheelchair accessible, with everything on one level. We’ll have ambient music playing at a low volume and low overhead lighting. You’ll receive an email before the event asking about any additional accessibility needs that we need to be aware of.

August’s Social will be a picnic where you’re invited to bring blankets, food to share, and anything you need to enjoy a summer evening in South Birmingham. Accessibility info: we’ll meet at the main carpark, then our social will take place just off one of the paths, in the shade.
The paths are wheelchair accessible. You are welcome to bring a chair, if you prefer not to sit on the floor, and there will be help available to carry items from the carpark. We’ll have ambient music playing at a low volume. You’ll receive an email before the event asking about any additional accessibility needs that we need to be aware of.
