Reconnect at
The Rooted Self
Nature Ritual Circle

Come home to your body, the Earth and community.

Step into an intentional space where ritual, nature and embodied presence meet. Each month, we come together in Birmingham to slow down, connect to the rhythms of the season and explore the mythic landscapes that shape our inner world. This is your invitation to ground, to reflect and to remember what it feels like to belong to yourself, to the land and to something greater.

A Monthly Nature Ritual Circle

The Rooted Self Connection Sessions are monthly gatherings that weave together:

  • Nature-based practices for grounding and reflection

  • Seasonal rituals to align with the cycles of the Earth

  • Somatic and meditation practices for nervous system regulation

  • Folklore and ancestral wisdom to deepen your sense of place and purpose

  • Sharing and community connection, held in a trauma-informed space

Each session invites you to reconnect with the living world, honour your inner seasons and explore what it means to thrive as part of a living ecosystem.

About Your Guide

an image of laura, a woman with brown hair, smiling at the camera. Laura is the guide for this nature ritual circle.

I’m Laura, an integrative therapeutic counsellor, somatic trauma therapist and nature connection practitioner.
I’m also initiated as a pagan priestess, though I prefer to think of myself simply as a space holder.

My work blends psychotherapy, earth-based spirituality, and somatic practices to support grounded, embodied healing.

You can read more about my approach and background in my Frequently Asked Questions.

If you’re not local, you can explore the Sacred Somatic Journeys series for guided seasonal practices you can do from home.

Since the 1800s, human connection with the natural world has fallen by over 60% (The Guardian).

Neuroscience now confirms what our ancestors always knew: time in nature soothes the nervous system, reduces stress, and supports resilience. But beyond the science, we are not separate from the Earth.

Our bodies, minds and spirits are shaped by the same elements that nurture forests, rivers and stars. These circles are an invitation to return to that truth.

Space for sharing, integration, and rest

Held at Birmingham Settlement’s Nature & Wellbeing Centre, surrounded by woodland, permaculture gardens, open green spaces and a cozy geodesic dome.

  • “I attended The Rooted Self Connection Sessions and I just want to say how incredibly nourishing it was. Laura’s offerings are a blend of her meditation, counselling & nature trainings, alongside her extensive knowledge of Paganism & spiritually, whilst honouring practices, culture & diversity. You can tell that Laura is deeply committed to this work and way of living. The venue was wonderful and had easy access to nature. It’s always nerve wracking going into group sessions but Laura made everyone feel at ease. We had the opportunity to share reflections and it always reminds me how important it is to gather in groups, be connected to the Earth and put devices away for a few hours. Thank you Laura! Looking forward to attending again!” - SOPHIE

  • I just wanted to tell you that this I did was so lovely, It was very grounding and I love the whole nature connection vibe. I am navigating some challenging times and this really helped today. I’m not typically very good at slowing down and being intentional with practices like this (and I didn’t know what somatic meant, so I loved your very simple explanation!!) and I loved that everything was an invitation “you may wish to…”, “you could…”. It felt very relatable. I know when you put so much heart and soul into something it’s always nice to know when it’s had an impact, so thank you” - AMY
