Birmingham Somatic movement, meditation and breath work journey with Align, Don’t Hustle and The Clear Space

I’m excited to share my next Birmingham sound bath collaboration. I’m joining forces with Imani, from Align, Don’t Hustle to create a somatic movement, meditation, breathwork and sound bath journey for you. Imani and I met through my photography work and I’ve photographed her a couple of times. Imani is a certified Alignment Coach and Facilitator who specialises in supporting busy, purpose driven creatives, leaders and chanage-makers, to move from hustle to alignment. Imani works with embodiment practices, such as breathwork, to bring calm to the nervous system, as well as somatic coaching techniques to support greater clarity, connection, ease and joy to help us to live at a more sustainable pace. I know I’m not the only one who could benefit from a little bit of that magic!

In addition to her coaching practice, Imani is the founder of a youth development consultancy, dedicated to nurturing the leadership and character development of young people. Imani is a passionate and inspiring human and I’m excited to be working with her.

Breathwork and breathing through the problems of our time

We’ll begin our journey by exploring the theme of openness. How might we breathe and move through the problems of our time, rather than bracing ourselves against them? We’ll connect with our breath and body, to strengthen our sense of belonging to the larger web of being.

Supporting ourselves in this way supports us to remain alert and open, whether reading the news, being present to your own grief or supporting someone else a who is suffering. We can’t give from an empty cup.

We’ll follow this with some very gentle breathwork and somatic movement as we arrive in the space, followed by a guided journal prompt to support you to explore this theme and your own experience more deeply.

Surrendering to the sounds of crystal singing bowls and koshi chimes for deep restorative relaxation

From our somatic movement, breathwork and journalling session we’ll transition into our sound bath. You can let go of everything, get comfy and sink into a soundscape of crystal bowls and koshi chimes. Click the graphic below to find out about sound baths if you’ve never experienced one before.

Sound baths are suitable for most people and as a trauma-informed practitioner, I include adjustments and suggestions so that everyone can get the most out of the experience. That said, if you are epileptic, pregnant, have a severe clinical mental health diagnosis, or implants such as metal plates, a pacemaker or cochlear implants, a sound bath may not be suitable for you. Please contact me for a chat if you’re not sure.
